Film Music for Summer : PGE HoloGrams
Śląska Orkiestra Kameralna - Sala Koncertowa im. Karola Stryji Filharmonia Śląska
Program Info: Silesian Chamber Orchestra Agnieszka Sawicka – violin
We will say hello to summer at the Silesian Philharmonic to the rhythm of the greatest hits of film music. This afternoon will be full of sounds that have become permanently etched in the collective imagination – those that accompany us from the first scenes on the screen to the end credits, amplifying emotions, building tension and giving films their unique character. The Silesian Chamber Orchestra and violinist Agnieszka Sawicka will take us to the world of cinema, where every melody tells a story – often even more strongly than words.
The program will feature compositions that have been loved by millions of viewers. The magical suite from Harry Potter will be adjacent to the monumental Conquest of Paradise from the film 1492: Journey to Paradise – one of Vangelis' most recognizable works, which has symbolized the dream of a great journey for decades. The drama and emotional power of The Lord of the Rings will meet the lightness and humor of animation themes such as Shrek or Madagascar , and tense phrases from Indiana Jones or Jurassic Park will remind us of the golden era of adventure music by John Williams. We will also hear the subtle and lyrical Moon River from the film Breakfast at Tiffany's – a song that has been moving with its simplicity and melancholy for over sixty years. There will also be classics of European cinema: the tango Por una cabeza from Scent of a Woman, whose expressive rhythm and elegance have become a symbol of passion and emotional intensity.
This concert is not only an opportunity for musical relaxation – it is also a tribute to film composers who have created true masterpieces – equal to the image, and sometimes even surpassing it. It's also the perfect moment to end the summer together – with a smile, emotion and a bit of cinematic magic, which, like any good story, stays with us for a long time.
