Is it possible to enclose the magic of cinema only in sounds? You will find out during the penultimate concert of the 30. International Festival Nova Music and Architecture. The program of the event is full of cinema hits straight from Hollywood. The main character of the evening will be the master of film elegance – Henry Mancini. We will hear his cult, Oscar-winning Moon River from Breakfast at Tiffany's , or the energetic Le Jazz hot! from the musical Victor/Victoria .
What else? We can expect a sentimental journey to interwar Casablanca to the sounds of the immortal As Time Goes By , a thrill with cult themes from the James Bond films and the Mission: Impossible series, as well as a daring pirate adventure on the high seas with the heroes of Pirates of the Caribbean . The evening will be complemented by a solemn musical tribute to another giant of cinema – John Williams.
The star who will breathe life into these film stories will be the outstanding singer Katarzyna Dondalska. Her voice – coloratura soprano – is the highest female voice in classical music, characterized by incredible lightness and grace. The artist reaches registers inaccessible to most female singers in the world. Her performance of the famous hit Dance All Night Away from the musical My Fair Lady or Mancini's temperamental, jazzy songs will surely captivate the Toruń audience.
The Toruń Symphony Orchestra will take care of the unforgettable, powerful and full of depth sound. Behind the conductor's desk will be Maestro Dainius Pavilionis. The guide to Hollywood will be a valued journalist and film music expert – Magdalena Miśka-Jackowska. Thanks to her colorful stories and behind-the-scenes curiosities, the concert will turn into a fascinating and humorous journey through the history of the X Muse.
