Program Info: Markéta Irglová is not only the holder of the prestigious Oscar, Grammy and many other music awards, but above all a distinctive composer and performer who is able to enchant the audiences of large theater halls in the United States and European capitals as well as domestic ones, and leave them with an unrepeatable, almost metaphysical experience.
He lives and works in Iceland, but performs all over the world, solo, in a duo with Glen Hansard or as part of The Swell Season. In addition to songwriting, released on four solo albums Anar (2011), Muna (2014), Lila (2021) and Where You Belong (2024), he writes film and theater music and shoots his own music videos. At his solo concerts, he offers subtle melodies of folk stamp as well as more massive, structured opuses that can literally nail the viewer to their seats.
Markéta Irglová rarely performs on our stages for time reasons. However, she enjoys playing for domestic audiences all the more and her concerts in the Czech Republic and for listeners are all the more intense. It carefully chooses the locations of its concerts, giving priority to concert venues with a unique atmosphere: sacral buildings, historical buildings, castle gardens or theatres.
