03 July 2026 Boulogne-sur-Mer (France)
Symphony of the Ocean
Opal Sinfonietta conducted by Enrique Segura - Nausicaa Centre National De La Mer
Program Info: At dusk, the sky and the sea merge in the same breath and the music takes the helm. The program opens in the depths — those of the abyss populated by legendary creatures, those haunted by John Williams' shark or Ifukube's titan — before rising to the surface, to the light, to the sea shanties that punctuate the maneuver and the paper heroes who sail without ever wetting. Then come the great romantic spaces: James Horner's icy Atlantic, Rimsky-Korsakov's East Sea, and finally Klaus Badelt's flamboyant Caribbean, where freedom smells of powder and rum
This concert takes place in a unique setting: Nausicaá, Centre National de la Mer, in Boulogne-sur-Mer, in front of the Ocean show (Grande Baie). Behind the glass, the creatures are there, silent and majestic, living witnesses of this musical tribute to their kingdom.
The sea does not have a single language. She speaks baroque and folk, Hollywood and French song, she whispers and she roars. Tonight, she speaks all these languages at once.
