03 July 2026 Ostróda (Poland)
10th Arena Festival film & music: Masters of Film Music
Warmia-Masuria Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra conducted by Piotr Sułkowski - Amphitheater
Program Info: Warmia-Masuria Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra Piotr Sułkowski, conductor Sławek Uniatowski Kasia Moś Karolina Leszko TRE VOCI (Wojciech Sokolnicki, Mikołaj Adamczak and Miłosz Galaj)
The first evening of the festival at the Ostróda Amphitheater is a return to the key themes that have shaped the Arena Festival over the past nine editions. We selected pieces that evoked the greatest applause and have become hallmarks of our cinematic experiences. The "Masters of Film Music" program combines the power of a full symphony orchestra with the refined voices of leading Polish vocalists.
The evening will open with a selection of orchestral suites and songs that have become a staple in cinematic history. The Warmia-Masuria Philharmonic Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Piotr Sułkowski, will evoke the grand scale of Klaus Badelt's "Pirates of the Caribbean" and the stark, tense atmosphere of Hans Zimmer's "Gladiator."
A special place in the program will be occupied by a section devoted to the work of Andrzej Wajda. We will perform two pieces – a symbolic tribute to the director, whose films became the foundation of Polish cinematic identity, and whose accompanying music has gained the status of autonomous works.
Artists who have been working with film music for years will appear on stage, bringing their own interpretation and energy to well-known compositions.
Kasia Moś will face the legend of the 007 series, performing the songs "Skyfall" and "Writing's on the Wall", as well as one of the most vocally demanding themes - "I will always love you".
Sławek Uniatowski and Karolina Leszko will complement the program with interpretations of songs that have for years been a key element of film romances and dramas.
The TRE VOCI trio (Wojciech Sokolnicki, Mikołaj Adamczak, Miłosz Galaj) will present a masculine take on classical music. We'll hear, among others, Charles Aznavour's atmospheric "She," the energetic "Il mondo," and Bryan Adams' rock ballad "Everything I Do." The combination of three tenors with a symphony orchestra, featuring works by Josh Groban and Il Volo, is the highlight of the evening, demonstrating how close film music is to operatic grandeur.
