Program Info: In Musis at the Movies , Maestro Jules not only shows how music works in film, but above all experiences what that music does to us. How do composers and directors unwittingly control our emotions? Which musical choices make a scene unforgettable, moving or breathtakingly exciting?
Before the interval, popular, classical works that have been given an extra charge by their use in films will be played. In combination with explanations and image fragments, recognition is immediately created: you hear and feel why this music is so powerful. After the intermission, original film music from well-known blockbusters such as Pirates of the Caribbean (Klaus Badelt), Jaws (John Williams) and Lord of the Rings (Howard Shore) follows, in which the concert hall turns into an almost cinematographic experience.
A special role is reserved for soprano Laetitia Gerards , known from Wie is de Mol and Beste Zangers, who performs vocal highlights as a soloist. In addition, the winner of the Maestro Jules Spring Prize, selected through the Princess Christina Competition, will be the soloist Prinses Christina Concours. As a result, this concert not only offers established quality, but also a stage for new top talent.
