Spring Concert 2026
Lillehammer Symphony Orchestra conducted by Christian Tenfjord - Lillehammer Church
Program Info: Welcome to the spring concert with the Lillehammer Symphony Orchestra and Choir and Vestre Aker Duschlag!
The concert offers classics in classical orchestra, stage and choral music: here you will hear a number of highlights with a high show factor that both entertains and moves.
We play classical works such as the Bat Overture by Strauss, the so-called "slave choir/prison choir" by Guiseppe Verdi, Farandole by Georges Bizet, excerpts from the musical Les Misérables and the American ballet Rodeo by Aaron Copland, film music by ennio Morricone in Gabriel's Oboe and the symphonic poem A Steppe Sketch by Aleksandr Borodin – to name a few.
There will be choral works by Gjeilo, Mozart, Elgar and Bruckner in collaboration with our guest choir for the occasion: Vestre Aker Duschlag. The music is both energy-rich, terrific, sparkling – interspersed with resting tones with beautiful choral sounds, world premieres and moments for reflection.
Vestre Aker Duschlag is a mixed choir from Oslo. The choir has a varied repertoire with classical music, church music and opera and folk singing, musicals and jazz etc. At this concert, we will hear both they perform the classical works by Mozart and Elgar, and the choir together with the Lillehammer Symphonic Choir and the Lillehammer Symphony Orchestra. The conductor of the choir is Kaia Rullestad Teigen.
The orchestra's conductor is Christian Tenfjord. On the occasion, he has written an opening number for the concert for orchestra and an arrangement of To the Youth by Nordahl Grieg.
