Program Info: The Promenade Concert is provided by the Junior Orchestra and the Youth Orchestra of the Hofstads Youth Orchestra Association. The combination of young musicians aged 12-23 with a varied program (classical music, film and musical) makes this a very suitable concert for all ages.
This concert is a special performance by the former member orchestra. After 34 years, conductor Lex Blankestijn is saying goodbye and will be at the helm one more time with former members from 1992 to 2026.
For more than 40 years, a number of cooperating service clubs from The Hague and the surrounding area, united in the SSA foundation, have made it possible for young musicians from the orchestras of the Hofstads Youth Orchestra Association to show their talents to a wide audience on a professional stage every year.
The Hofstads Youth Orchestra is the oldest youth orchestra in the world and has been around for over 100 years. Almost 250 children make music together every Saturday in five different orchestras.
