Program Info: From iconic classics to unforgettable film music: in this concert, Maestro Jules Orkest shows how strong the connection is between the concert hall and the silver screen. The First Chapter: Classics in Movies features masterpieces that became known worldwide for their roles in beloved films. Think of Rossini, Beethoven, Strauss, Bizet and Ravel, music that has taken generations of viewers and listeners into adventure, suspense, humor and emotion.
Soprano Laetitia Gerards, winner of the Maestro Jules Spring Prize 2026 Princess Christina Competition, will be participating in this evening. Together with the Maestro Jules Orchestra and Maestro Jules as conductor and presenter, an accessible and festive program full of recognition and imagination is created.
After the break, the Doelen goes Hollywood takes over with an ode to the great film composers and famous soundtracks from cinema. With music from Soldier of Orange, The Godfather, Schindler's List, James Bond, Jaws, The Lord of the Rings and Pirates of the Caribbean, among others, the orchestra is in the middle of the world of excitement, romance and adventure.
