Acclaimed on tour in France and abroad, this trilogy by Philip Glass brings together music for two pianos, scenography, light and perfumed chords: an alchemy of the senses that illuminates the listening and draws intimate spaces.
A student of Nadia Boulanger from 1964 to 1966, Phil Glass was a Francophile – and his love of French culture was not limited to music. After his trilogy of portraits ( Einstein , Gandhi and Akhenaten ), he turned to the work of Jean Cocteau for his operas. This is how he revisits the myth of Orpheus as well as Beauty and the Beast . He closes his trilogy with Les Enfants terribles , a novel that is both tragic and frighteningly light, during which two children will gain an imaginary and limitless freedom, within the four walls of their room. Subjects that Glass' colorful and infinite music marries wonderfully, under the fingers of Katia and Marielle Labèque. A clever alchemy to which Francis Kurkdjian contributes the delicate creation of perfumed accords.
