Hans Zimmer - Interstellar Film by Christopher Nolan, 2014, 169 minutes French premiere of the film-concert version
In the near future, human activities have reduced biodiversity to nothing and made the climate unlivable, when a wormhole appears near Saturn. A group of researchers then embarks on a search for a new habitable planet...
Since they met for Batman Begins in 2005, British director Christopher Nolan has formed an incredible creative duo with German composer Hans Zimmer. Heady, if not oppressive, the soundtrack that he imagined for Interstellar is one of the most moving in his filmography. The organ part, originally intended for a historic instrument in a London church, will forever be associated with the harshness of the interstellar void – a resolutely pessimistic vision of the conquest of space, in contrast to the Blue Danube of 2001. One of Zimmer's feats of strength is to express, through music alone, the elongations and distortions of space-time that a black hole causes when you dare to approach it.
Interstellar – Live is produced by Cutting Edge Group Presents in partnership with City Light Concerts.
