Lisa Batiashvili and the Dresden Philharmonic invite the audience to a sound journey through eleven cities. The starting point of her concert City Lights is Charlie Chaplin, who for Batiashvili embodies "the beauty and creative imagination of the 20th century". Inspired by Chaplin's music and films, she has selected works that portray key places in her life – from her hometown of Tbilisi to Berlin and Paris to Buenos Aires. The programme combines classical music, jazz, tango, film and pop music with cinematic projections that make each station an atmospheric experience and form the evening into a cinematic-musical synthesis of the arts.
