Open-Air-Konzertnacht: Feel the Love Tonight - Best of Musical and Movie
Staatskapelle Weimar conducted by Peter Christian Feigel - Weimarhallenpark

Program Info:
Staatskapelle Weimar
Conductor: Peter Christian Feigel
Soloists: Sybille Lambrich / Uwe Schenker-Primus / Gero Wendorff
Moderation: André Kaczmarczyk

From Broadway classics to legendary film scores, this year's concert night under the direction of Peter Christian Feigel spans a sparkling arc across the history of musicals and cinema. Swinging overtures by George Gershwin and Richard Rodgers, emotional highlights from "Porgy and Bess", "West Side Story" and "Chicago" meet iconic film music by John Williams, Henry Mancini and Elmer Bernstein. Magical soundscapes from the »Harry Potter« films, touching evergreens such as »Moon River« or »Somewhere over the Rainbow« provide pure well-being, while epic film music from »E.T.« or »The Magnificent Seven« brings the screen heroes of our childhood to life.

As soloists, audience favourite Uwe Schenker-Primus from the DNT ensemble and the musical stars Sybille Lambrich and Gero Wendorff lend their voices to the famous songs – from "Summertime" to "You'll Never Walk Alone" and "Don't Cry for Me, Argentina" to the title-inspiring highlight "Can You Feel the Love Tonight" from "The Lion King". The evening will be hosted by award-winning actor and director André Kaczmarczyk, whose Weimar musical production »Kiss me, Kate« is regularly celebrated with standing ovations in front of a sold-out house.

A summer evening under the open sky, full of emotions, goosebumps and unforgettable melodies – to lean back and hum along and in a new place in the Weimarhallenpark:

The former lake stage goes ashore, moves from the Weimarhallenteich to the meadow in the direction of the Bauhaus Museum. This will further preserve the unique atmosphere of the park for the concerts and at the same time improve the view of the stage. In addition to the strolling and picnic area at the back of the meadow, there are numbered seats at our group eight directly in front of the raised stage.
