In Taiwan, pianist Konstantin Lifschitz—renowned for his performances of Bach—has been hailed by the Taiwanese media as a 'musical ascetic.' He once performed Shostakovich's Twenty-Four Preludes and Fugues in a four-hour marathon, presented two complete cycles of Beethoven's thirty-two piano sonatas within a single season, and in 2023 embarked on an almost two-week Bach piano marathon tour across Taiwan.In this concert, conductor Wu Yao-Yu will lead the Kaohsiung Symphony Orchestra in collaboration with this uniquely charismatic, technically brilliant, and philosophically minded pianist, offering audiences a profound dialogue between piano and orchestra.
