Tribute to Ennio Morricone - Oscar-winning music
Orchestra Ensemble Le Muse conducted by M° Andrea Albertini - Capitole Gent

Program Info:
The music of 'Maestro' Ennio Morricone is iconic. With some 500 soundtracks for major feature films, including 70 award-winning films, he is one of the most influential musicians of our time. The Ensemble Le Muse brilliantly performs this musical treasure in an impressive homage to the Italian musical legend.

Beautifully interpreted soundtracks, supported by film images and photographs, and enriched with anecdotes and historical and biographical facts by conductor Andrea Albertini, create a magical atmosphere during the performances of this special Italian ensemble.

Ensemble Le Muse has an all-female orchestral line-up of instrumentalists who earned their spurs with the famous music group Rondò Veneziano. The orchestra is assisted by vocalist Angelica Depaoli, who touches the souls of the audience with her voice and conjures up emotional film moments. The programme includes many famous soundtracks from Morricone's impressive oeuvre. Of course 'The hateful eight', with which he won an Oscar for best original film music in 2016 at the age of 87. Shortly after that Academy Award, 'The Music of Ennio Morricone' made its debut; the beginning of a series of thirty sold-out performances in Europe. Classics from the film repertoire of the Italian Westernicoon Sergio Leone are also included, such as 'For a few dollars more'. 'The good, the bad and the ugly' and the legendary 'Once upon a time in the west'. A tribute to a great talent, who gave musical inspiration to many famous films with his epic soundtracks.
