Technical perfection, a clear tone and passion for the essence of music are among the trademarks of Jean-Guihen Queyras. The versatile cellist presents a facet of his instrument that rarely comes into play, that of jazz: "Invisible Stream" outlines what connects people and music across stylistic and aesthetic cultural boundaries. Under this title, the Canadian-born Frenchman, together with his three fellow musicians, all of whom are among the most important representatives of classical music and jazz, creates a musical festival at which a dialogue unfolds between the music of Raphaël Imbert and works by Franz Schubert, Richard Wagner and Ornette Coleman beyond improvisations. The perfect place for this musical adventure is the St. Pauli church ruins in Dresden's Hechtviertel, which were renovated in 2011/12 and equipped with a glass roof, and which have quickly developed into one of the most exciting venues in Dresden – urban, atmospheric, unique.
