Justin Hurwitz Justin Hurwitz is an American composer and screenwriter. His collaboration with Damien Chazelle on Guy and Madeline on a Park Bench (2009), Whiplash (2014), La La Land (2016), First Man (2018), and Babylon (2022) has earned him worldwide recognition and numerous awards. He has notably won two Academy Awards®—Best Original Score and Best Original Song for “City of Stars”—as well as Golden Globe Awards.
Damien Chazelle Damien Chazelle is a French-American director, screenwriter, and producer. His filmography includes Whiplash (2014), La La Land (2016), and First Man (2018), for which Justin Hurwitz composed the music. He has received numerous awards, including the Academy Award® for Best Director for La La Land, his dream project, making him the youngest person to receive this award at the age of 32. He also participated in a Netflix series project, The Eddy, which is set in Paris. Chazelle's most recent film, Babylon, is set in 1920s Hollywood and has been in theatres since January 2023.
