A cult film directed by Fritz Lang in 1926, Metropolis imagines the future by placing us precisely in the year 2026. It portrays a strongly stratified society: in the city's skyscrapers, bosses and rulers indulge in the pleasures of life; In the depths, far from the sunlight, live the thousands of workers who work to exhaustion to support the ruling class. Metropolis was one of the last masterpieces of silent cinema and, over the years, more than twenty soundtracks have been written to accompany it. The screening of this classic on the screen of Sala Suggia will be accompanied live by the Remix Ensemble, which interprets the music created by Martin Matalon in 1995.
