Danny Elfman’s Music from the Films of Tim Burton
RTVE Orchestra and Choir - Noches del Botánico Festival
Program Info: Originality, irony, mystery. And a powerful personality. These are the hallmarks of Danny Elfman’s music, the man behind the soundtracks of almost all of Tim Burton’s films, who will be joined by the RTVE Orchestra. Much more than a great composer: a true rock star, as you will be able to see in his striking live performance.
By the mid-1980s, the Californian already had a solid musical background, but his life changed when a young Tim Burton commissioned him to write the music for his film debut, Pee-wee’s Big Adventure (1985).
He then became the go-to composer for the acclaimed filmmaker, responsible for the melodies of such iconic films as Edward Scissorhands (1990), Big Fish (2003), Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005), and Alice in Wonderland (2010), among others.
Far from the academicism and pomp embraced by other famous film composers, Danny Elfman reveals himself live as a fierce stage presence, commanding an impressive musical machine with which he recreates the unsettling, disturbing, and magnetic universe that fuels his imagination. A true spectacle.
