Program Info: Italian composers Morricone, Piovani and Rota are best known as composers of film music, whose works stand out for their emotionality, melody and ability to tell stories without words.
Often, just a few notes are enough for the listeners to remember a melody, a scene or even an entire film. For example, the flute motif of Morricone's "The Good, the Bad and the Ugly" or the theme of Rota's "The Godfather" are etched in their memories.
The film music by American composer Alan Silvestri ("Forrest Gump", "Back to the Future") is also recognisably rich in tunes and fits beautifully into the concert programme.
