Program Info: Vladimir Cosma has become one of the most sought-after film composers since the 1970s. Although he was born in Romania and grew up musically on classical and jazz, he found his greatest creative home in France, where he began composing film music and quickly gained a privileged position. His name is associated with the films The Big Blonde with the Black Shoe , The Adventures of Rabbi Jacob , Little Wing or Little Leg , The Beast and many others. He stands out for his sense of catchy, witty and moving melodies that can not only accompany a film, but become an integral part of it. He has been awarded a number of international awards, including two Césars for best music for the films Diva (1981, award 1982) and Dance Hall ( Le Bal , 1983, award 1984). Now, after eight years, he is returning to our festival to personally conduct his most famous film melodies in the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House.
