Program Info: The songs and compositions of the composer Imants Kalniņš have become the musical hallmark of our nation's second half of the 20th century – “Četri balti kerkli (Elpojiet džīži)”, “Sprīdītis”, “Zaķīšu pirtiņa”, “Ezera sonata”, “Pūt, vējiņiņi!”, “Bimini”, “Zelta sietiņš”, “Kabata”, “Lilioms”, “Princis un bebaga zēns”, “Bernīns kapteiņa Granta”, “Cilvēks kas smejas” – these are just a few works from the rich range of music for film and theatre performances by Imants Kalniņš. On the eve of the composer's anniversary, his most significant compositions written for film and theatre will be performed at the Anniversary Concert.
Congratulating composer Imants Kalniņš on his 85th birthday, we will see and hear his associates, the most popular Latvian musicians, singers and dancers, on the same stage. The concert will feature the group “Menuets”, Marts Kristians Kalniņš, Uģis Roze, Uldis Dumpis, Aivars Gudrais, Miks Galvanovskis, Sandija Misika, Ieva Sutugova, other actors and singers, children's folk dance ensembles “Dzintariņš” and “Zelta Sietiņš”, as well as other guests.
