Billy & Rose: Wild West Outlaws
San Juan Symphony conducted by Thomas Heuser - Community Concert Hall
Program Info: San Juan Symphony Thomas Heuser, conductor Holly Mulcahy, violin Festival Men’s Choir George S. Clinton, narrator
Experience the excitement of iconic American music that celebrates the folklore and musical moods of the Wild West. The theme from “Rawhide” sets a raucous tone for a rowdy program of Western-themed music, including Copland’s Suite from his 1938 ballet, Billy the Kid. Writing with a similar cinematic flair, composer George S. Clinton created The Rose of Sonora for the celebrated violinist Holly Mulcahy, who embodies the female outlaw, Rose, in a new and wholly satisfying violin concerto.
