On Fire #26 Bergische Symphoniker & Film Music »spacy«
Bergische Symphoniker conducted by Daniel Huppert - Teo Otto Theater
Program Info: In this film music concert, we simply want to take off with you into a galaxy far, far away. And even if Star Wars comes to mind first, there is so much more that the great film music composers have written on the subject of space and science fiction. Just think of Star Trek, Interstellar, or the cutest yet weirdest alien, E.T. All of them are magnificently composed works guaranteed to get stuck in your head. And we wouldn't be at ON FIRE! if we didn't also present you with something classical, in keeping with the theme. With the orchestral suite "The Planets," the English composer Gustav Holst serves up just the right thing. It's not for nothing that this magnificent work has served as the inspiration for several film scores. 3, 2, 1... ignition!
With music from Alexander Courage/Jerry Goldsmith, John Williams, Gustav Holst and others
