Wasps, frogs and monsters
Aurélie Saraf, harp - La Criée - Théâtre National de Marseille
Program Info: Composer: Alexandros Markeas Harpist, actress: Aurélie Saraf
A burlesque performance between real and virtual that brings together a harpist and her double, the instrumental gesture and its digital avatars.
How do you react, as an artist, to the crises that accumulate and the anxieties that the news can arouse? The composer Alexandros Markeas chose to draw inspiration from Aristophanes to create "like him and with him an act of artistic revolt that does not deny poetry, the absurd and humour". A renowned harpist accustomed to concert and theatre stages, Aurélie Saraf is surrounded by three screens and guided by a voice-over. From one screen to another, from one harp to another, a mirror game is built between the real and the virtual. From minimalism to the mass effect created by video, the virtuosity of timbres and modes of play leads us towards a poetics of excess in an overflowing energy.
