Program Info: The Grand Rex is delighted and proud to celebrate the centenaries of two jazz icons, Miles Davis and John Coltrane (1926–2026), with an exceptional concert on June 29, 2026.
On this occasion, two big names in contemporary jazz will be on stage: trumpeter Terence Blanchard, a key composer of Spike Lee's film scores, and saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, author of the soundtrack for Tony Gatlif's film "Sophie and the Scorpion" and supervisor of the use of Alice Coltrane's works for the soundtrack of Sofia Coppola's "Priscilla."
Having already reunited for the soundtrack to Taylor Hackford's film "The Comedian" starring Robert De Niro, they celebrate the iconic figures of Davis and Coltrane here by revisiting their works with respect, freedom, and intensity. A vibrant tribute dedicated to heritage, transmission... and the future of jazz.
