Film scores by John Williams
Janáckova Filharmonie Ostrava conducted by Daniel Raiskin - Vesmír cinema, Gong auditorium

Program Info:
John Williams is one of the greatest composers of film music of all time. Throughout his career, he has created iconic soundtracks that have defined modern film music. His work is inextricably linked with Hollywood blockbusters, especially thanks to his long-term collaboration with directors Steven Spielberg (Jaws, E.T. – The Extra-Terrestrial, Jurassic Park, Schindler's List) and George Lucas (Star Wars, Indiana Jones).

"Williams has been composing music for films and television for over 65 years, and some of them have become true modern classics. The richness of the orchestral sound, the unprecedented mastery of compositional technique and the endless amount of melodic invention make many of his scores an absolute treat for listeners and orchestras alike – they simply sound great! Whether you're looking for a lost ark, running away from a hungry velociraptor or helping a little alien call home, one thing is always certain: John Williams' music is the ultimate special effect!" explains the appointed chief conductor of the JPO, Daniel Raiskin.
