Korngold & Yoshimatsu
Modesto Symphony Orchestra conducted by Keitaro Harada - Gallo Center for the Arts

Program Info:
Modesto Symphony Orchestra
Keitaro Harada, conductor
Charles Yang, violin

Conductor Keitaro Harada’s program will take the audience on his personal musical journey. We’ll explore his early life in Japan with Yoshimatsu’s enchanting Symphony No. 4 and his time in the US with Ticheli’s whimsical Blue Shades for Orchestra. Those two pieces bookend Korngold’s cinematic Violin Concerto in D Major performed by violinist Charles Yang, who returns to the MSO after last performing here in 2017 with the famed trio, Time for Three.

Frank Ticheli - Blue Shades for Orchestra
Erich Wolfgang Korngold - Violin Concerto in D Major, op. 35, the concerto has themes from the scores for the movies ANOTHER DAWN (1937), ANTHONY ADVERSE (1936) & THE PRINCE AND THE PAUPER (1937)
Takashi Yoshimatsu - Symphony No. 4, op. 82
