Cinematic Memory: A Violin in History
Isabelle Durin, violin (Paris), Darius Mažintas, piano (Vilnius) - Samuelio Bako muziejus
Program Info: "Memory of Cinema: A Violin in History" is a touching musical journey through legendary films, featuring powerful music - like an echo of a past marked by tragedies, hope and survival. The violin and piano duo allows us to hear in a new way the melodies of famous films, which have become an inseparable witness to history - both in the context of the Jewish people and all of humanity.
This concert is more than a retrospective of film music. It is an emotional journey through memory, combining individual and collective experiences that tell the story of lives shattered or blossomed in the whirlwind of historical events.
The concert will feature works from the films: Yiddish Mame, Fiddler on the Roof, Schindler's List, La Vita è bella, Exodus, The Great Dictator, Sophie's Choice, Le Dernier métro, etc.
The program includes composers: J. Yellen / M. Pollack, Jerry Bock, Michel Legrand, Charlie Chaplin, Carlos Gardel, John Williams, Mark Warshavsky, Nicola Piovani, Georges Delerue, Marvin Hamlisch, Wolf Durmashkin, Ernest Gold and others.
