Fantasy Symphony
Symphony Orchestra conducted by Sergei Akimov - Kremlin Palace

Program Info:
Humanity has created an incredible layer of cultural heritage, among which, of course, is classical music. The diversity of expressive means and artistic techniques immerses the listener in a special world of meanings. There is no doubt about the genius of Shostakovich's music, which gave strength to the defenders of besieged Leningrad. But among all this diversity, film music stands as a separate pillar in the art of the 20th century. The large-scale innovations of Sergei Eisenstein together with Sergei Prokofiev in the films "Alexander Nevsky" and "Ivan the Terrible" proved to the world that music is now an integral part of cinema. And to this day, in the most significant world masterpieces of the screen, the director's work goes hand in hand with the work of a classical composer. Be it Alexander Zatsepin or John Williams.

Since 2019, the Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Sergei Akimov has been delighting the public with concerts of film classics. Sergei is one of the most promising young conductors in Russia. Having graduated with honors from the Moscow Conservatory, he managed to make a name for himself around the world as the chief conductor of the RockestraLive orchestra and, of course, as a finalist of the conducting competition in Salzburg (2018). As part of the Salzburg Festival, he conducted the Camerata Salzburg orchestra. He is a conductor of the Moscow Operetta Theater and the Studio for New Music. He participated in the Italian Opera Academy of Riccardo Muti. Since 2018, he has been a trainee conductor of the NPHR (artistic director V. Spivakov). In the summer of 2024, despite a wave of anti-Russian rhetoric, he sensationally won the European Conducting Competition (Greece).

In 2025, the orchestra will present a series of concerts on the stage of the State Kremlin Palace, which will include world masterpieces of classical music, film music, as well as music by contemporary academic composers.

Incredible fairy-tale worlds have always captured the imagination of man. Mystical stories full of magic and sorcery have captivated people at all times. This time you will hear famous music from the three main pillars of the fantasy universe - "The Lord of the Rings", "Game of Thrones" and "The Witcher". The concert is hosted by Vsevolod Kuznetsov (the official voice of the Witcher and Voldemort)
