Nicola Piovani: Music and cinema
Athens State Orchestra conducted by Nicola Piovani - Megaron Athens Concert Hall
Program Info: Who can imagine the chaos of the Taviani brothers or Roberto Benini defying the horrors of the camps without the mousic that has literally haunted our memory? The composer who has marked the Italian cinema of the last 50 years, student and follower of the aesthetics of Manos Hadjidakis, creator of more than 130 soundtracks, successor to Nino Rota in Fellini’s last films and Oscar winner (for the music of Life is Beautiful), Nicola Giovanni Giovanni, a true musical legend of world cinema, takes to the stage of the Herodion, in a collaboration between the Festival and the Athens Concert Hall.
