Film Music Festival Kraków - Cinematic Piano: Aleksander Dębicz
Aleksander Dębicz, piano - Filharmonia Krakowska
Program Info: Aleksander Dębicz – one of the most original contemporary pianists – returns to the pieces from his bestselling debut to enchant the FMF audience once again. The album Cinematic Piano is an expression of individual sensitivity and at the same time a dialogue with the masters of film music. Dębicz, considered a master of improvisation, will certainly surprise us with unique interpretations of his own compositions. The atmospheric concert will be the crowning achievement of an intensive week at FMF.
Aleksander Dębicz's debut album Cinematic Piano was released 10 years ago. It was the result of the pianist and composer's victory in the Transatlantyk Instant Composition Contest, in which the task was to create live, ad hoc, music for films.
Cinematic Piano contains Dębicz's original compositions inspired by cinema and film music. The album was met with great reception from listeners and critics and opened the door for the artist to further projects - concerts, theater and films.
Since his debut, Dębicz has released six more albums, which consistently echo his characteristic style, described by the artist himself as cinematic classical. A decade ago, he decided to transfer to the language of the piano what fascinated him most in cinema and film music. Today, he returns to these inspirations, enriching them with new experiences and sensitivity.
