Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague conducted by Martin Šanda - Hanoi National Opera
Program Info: The famous tour travels from prestigious European stages Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague halfway around the world to reach the Vietnamese audience. Led by chief conductor Martin Šanda, they perform the best of rock and pop film music. Viewers can enjoy melodies from legendary and timeless films, as well as blockbusters from recent years.
Once Upon a Time in the West, Titanic, Forrest Gump, Moulin Rouge, Bridget Jones's Diary or for example Love Actually. These are films that are loved all over the world, not only for the power of the story, but also for the unique music associated with them. The atmosphere of all these famous films and many more will be transferred to the stages of prestigious opera houses in four Vietnamese cities: Hanoi, Hai Phong, Da Nang and Ho Chi Minh City, thanks to the fascinating sounds of the orchestra. During the Vietnamese tour, the musicians of the BSOP will give ten concerts, showing the local audience why they rightly belong to the top of the European and world stage.
The concert show programme also includes songs known from family films such as Frozen, Shrek or The Lion King, which are attractive to both adults and children.
"We are very much looking forward to the concerts in Vietnam. It will be our first experience with the local audience and I think they will be enthusiastic about our interpretation of the most famous pop and rock melodies from iconic films. It is music that unites people all over the world, across continents and generations. That is its power, which becomes even greater when performed by a large orchestra," said Martin Šanda, Director and Chief Conductor of BSOP.
The concerts take place under the auspices from the Embassy of the Czech Republic in Hanoi “Thanks to this project, Czech culture will be experienced in a new, inspiring dimension and will contribute to strengthening mutual understanding between our countries,” believes the Czech Ambassador to Vietnam, Hynek Kmoníček.
Since its foundation, the Bohemian Symphony Orchestra Prague has achieved numerous successes, including several European tours with rock legends: Deep Purple, Nazareth, Europe, Alice Cooper, Toto, Survivor, Foreigner, Journey, Bonnie Tyler, Uriah Heep and others. It can also boast collaborations with the Swedish band Sabaton, the British band Kosheen, 2Cellos, the famous Spanish opera singer José Carreras and the vocal group The Tenors and IL Volo. The list of stars who have been associated with the Prague Orchestra in one way or another is truly endless. Also worth mentioning are violinist Vanessa Mae, singer Sarah Brightman, violin phenomenon David Garrett and three-time Grammy winner Michael Bublé. The orchestra has also given a number of classical concerts throughout Europe and has also toured Japan and China.
