The common thread running through these seemingly contradictory terms is drawn by two exceptional French musicians: trumpeter Lucienne Renaudin Vary, who was internationally successful at a young age and awarded the Opus Klassik in 2021, among others, and Félicien Brut, who was recently acclaimed by the press as the French accordionist of his generation.
Together, the two artists, equally adept in jazz and classical music, navigate through French chansons and music from film classics such as Jacques Demy's Les Parapluies de Cherbourg or Les Demoiselles de Rochefort as well as operas and musicals such as Leonard Bernstein's West Side Story or Astor Piazzolla's María de Buenos Aires, finding their own jazzy-classical, painfully loving, chamber music-like extroverted sound: The Perfect Match .
