23 September 2025 Linz (Austria)
International Brucknerfest 25: Bruckner. And so on...
Vienna Brass Connection conducted by Johannes Kafka - Brucknerhaus, Großer Saal
Program Info: Bruckner. And so on... Twenty Austrian musicians from top orchestras such as the Vienna Philharmonic, the Vienna Symphony Orchestra, the ORF Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Tonkünstler Orchestra of Lower Austria, the Mozarteum Orchestra of Salzburg, the WDR Symphony Orchestra, and the Bavarian State Orchestra have come together to form the Vienna Brass Connection. In its debut at the Brucknerhaus Linz, the ensemble, under the direction of Johannes Kafka, combines film scores by composers such as Michael Giacchino and John Williams with arrangements of Giacomo Puccini's Turandot and Richard Strauss's Der Rosenkavalier , as well as with compositions by Anton Bruckner, such as the Adagio from the 7th Symphony or the monumental finale of the 8th Symphony. A unique blend that, as the ensemble itself notes with a wink, "reflects the entire spectrum of life: sometimes loud, sometimes quiet, sometimes cheerful and sometimes sad, sometimes high, sometimes low, sometimes Bruckner, and so on..."
