Program Info: Bond Symphonique is the first symphonic concert based on the musical themes and songs from the James Bond films, performed by 50 musicians from the Colonne and Musidrama orchestra and two singers under the direction of Samuel Séné.
The James Bond films have amassed a large number of themes and songs that have become classics of film music and, in some cases, timeless hits. The songs from the James Bond films have been performed by some of the greatest performers, including Shirley Bassey, Tom Jones, Nancy Sinatra, Paul McCartney, A-ha, Tina Turner, Sheryl Crow, Madonna, Jack White, and Adele, who received an Academy Award for Best Original Song, a Golden Globe, and a Critic's Choice Movie Award for "Skyfall." During the Bond Symphonic concert, you will find the most famous themes, including the famous James Bond Theme, instrumental music that appears in the introduction of all the films. But also the titles whose mere mention makes you immediately hum the tune: Goldfinger, Diamonds are forever, Goldeneye, Skyfall, Live and let die, Die anotherday, the living daylights, A view to a kill, You Only Live Twice, Nobody Does It Better… The majority of the music (11 contributions) is by John Barry, one of the world's greatest composers of film music. After John Barry, David Arnold is the second most important composer of the series (5 contributions). He composed the music from Tomorrow Never Dies to Quantum of Solace. The other composers of the saga are George Martin, Bill Conti, Michael Kamen, Marvin Hamlisch, Eric Serra and Thomas Newman.
