The Bulgarian Philharmonic Orchestra will present Disney's Aladdin in Concert Live to Film, featuring the legendary Oscar®, Golden Globe® and Grammy® award-winning soundtrack, performed live under the baton of conductor Andrei Ștefan Racu, on October 10, 2025, at the Palace Hall in Bucharest.
This special performance will bring the magic and emotion of the original film to the audience, accompanied by a live performance of the score composed by Alan Menken , with lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice .
The cast of the show
The Bucharest event will feature Ana Cebotari, Armand Călota, Silvian Vâlcu and Lucian Ghimisi, renowned artists who will bring to life the beloved characters from this classic Disney story.
The magical story of Aladdin
In the mythical city of Agrabah, Aladdin is an ingenious young man who dreams of a better life.
Through an unexpected coincidence, he meets the beautiful Princess Jasmine , the Sultan's daughter, who wants to find her own path in life, beyond the palace walls.
Together, they uncover an evil plot hatched by the evil wizard Jafar and embark on a spectacular magic carpet adventure, alongside the monkey Abu and the playful spirit of the lamp, Genie .
The original Disney film Aladdin (1992) won Academy Awards for Best Song ("A Whole New World") and Best Original Score .
Famous songs from the film include "Arabian Nights" , "Friend Like Me" , "Prince Ali" and "One Jump Ahead" , composed by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman and Tim Rice .
