Film Fest Gent welcomes Debbie Wiseman, one of the leading composers from the British film and television world, as a guest of honour of the 25th edition of the World Soundtrack Awards. Wisemans scores can be heard in important works from the British film world such as Tom & Viv , to Olivia and Wilde , and also in television series such as Wolf Hall , Father Brown and Judge John . Wiseman is also known for her regular collaborations with directors Peter Kosminsky, John Hay, Brian Gilbert, Simon Hunter and the late Lewis Gilbert. Her work has been awarded prices and nominations for the Grammies and the Ivor Novello Awards. Wiseman is also a composer in Residence at the main classical music station in the United Kingdom, Classic FM, since 2015.

Film Fest Gent is pleased to announce Debbie Wiseman as a guest of honour of the World Soundtrack Awards Ceremony & Concert on Wednesday 15 October 2025, in the De Bijloke Music Center. A selection of her work will be played by Brussels Philharmonic, led by Maestro Dirk Brossé. Film Fest Gent also presents Debbie Wiseman: Music for Film and Television , the album for this 25th WSA Ceremony with brand new studio recordings of the highlights from Debbie Wisemans Oeuvre.

Debbie Wiseman says about her invitation as a guest of honour: “I am very happy that I was invited as a guest of honour for the 25th World Soundtrack Awards, with which I follow in the footsteps of a long list of illustrious and celebrated names. It is a true privilege to share music with fellow composers, songwriters, industry professionals and fans of film music. I am pleased to have the suites of my scores performed - some for the very first time - by the appreciated Brussels Philharmonic under the expert guidance of Maestro Dirk Brossé in this beautiful area. ”
