Silent film comedies with live music - new series in the Theater 509 Cologne film treasures lifts Who doesn't love them: the little strolches, the cheekest brats of silent film - era? They bring a lot of things, no mud puddle out of the way and always somehow pull themselves out of the affair with charm and chuzpe. With episodes of this classic, the duo M-Cine (Katharina Stahik, Saxophone and Dorothee Haddenbruch, piano) opens on March 16. The new silent film series with live music in the Theater509 in the Stollwerck community center.
M-Cine does not use existing silent film compositions, but looks at the films of his choice with a look from today and explores their language. Is it conventional or experimental? Loud or quiet? From these questions, M-Cine develops the musical material for the film. Improvised and composed elements interlock. So every silent film evening is unique and full of experimentation.
