Founded by members of the Berlin and the Vienna Philharmonic, the ensemble Philharmonix is fearless in its musical explorations, combining the highest level of music-making with great entertainment. Its trademark is an incomparable virtuosity and the joy the musicians bring to their music-making, which is immediately communicated to the audience. The stylistic breadth is breathtaking, encompassing classical, jazz, folk, pop, but also Latin. Not everything here is classical music, but everything has musical class. In their brilliant arrangements, the musicians discover unheard-of original facets in familiar works. In keeping with this year’s festival motto, The Philharmonix dedicate themselves to several famous love songs during their concert at the Stromwerk, including the iconic Edith Piaf chanson »La vie en rose« and Sebastian Gürtler’s »Laumas Kāzas«.
