Located away from busy roads and in beautiful nature, the Reichenfels castle ruins in Hohenleuben are a popular excursion destination in Vogtland. Surrounded by forests and hiking trails, it houses the local history and nature museum as well as a wedding and event hotel and once a year becomes an atmospherically lit open-air concert hall. Every year at the end of August, the Vogtland Philharmonic transforms the inner courtyard, surrounded by the remains of medieval walls, into a modern-day open-air area with a large stage and over 1,000 seats. Top-class soloists, highlights from classical music, film, rock & pop and catering from regional partners offer a cross-genre and cross-generational audience an emotional and enjoyable concert evening.
