TV and film music: For Better or for Worse
Göteborg Opera Orchestra & Singers conducted by Martyna Szymczak - Göteborg Opera
Program Info: Performer Rickard Söderberg will compère the orchestral concert I nöd och lust (For Better or for Worse), which features plenty of well-known TV and film music and has love as its theme.
For as long as humans have been telling stories, love has been driving the drama forward, whether it’s in Greek mythology, Shakespeare, Italian opera or Bridget Jones’s Diary. A good story can, for example, be fuelled by the vicissitudes of love.
The work I nöd och lust includes music from great classic dramas, romantic comedies and tear-jerking 80s movies. Sometimes there’s a happy ending, other times love can be problematic, forbidden or even dangerous. Love can take so many forms. It is multifaceted, and loving can be difficult.
All the music in the concert has love as a common theme. It’s that driving force that gets us up in the morning, brings a sparkle to the greyest day and keeps us going through rain and shine, thick and thin, for better or for worse.
