“O Fortuna!” – this call from the goddess of fate opens the great cantata “Carmina Burana” by Carl Orff, one of the most successful choral works in music history. The variety of lively music for which Orff used texts from medieval manuscripts continues to fascinate audiences to this day. Together with the TU Dortmund Symphonic Wind Orchestra, the university choir also presents impressive “fateful” compositions by film music legends John Williams and Ennio Morricone as well as the Belgian wind orchestra specialist Kevin Houben. Heinke Kirzinger and Constantin Hesselmann are in charge.

program
Carl Orff »Carmina Burana« Profane songs for Soprano, Tenor, Baritone, Chor und Orchester
Kevin Houben »Atropos«
John Williams 'Dry your tears, Africa' from the film music for 'Amistad'
John Williams 'Hymn to the Fallen' from the film score for 'Saving Private Ryan'
Ennio Morricone “Moment for Morricone” (music from the films “Once upon a time in the West” and “Two Glorious Scoundrels”)
