Ryuichi Sakamoto: Music for Films

Just over a year after his death, Romaeuropa Festival pays homage to Maestro Ryuichi Sakamoto , one of the most significant and influential figures on the contemporary musical scene and one of the most prestigious presences in the history of the REF, through a path that connects the inaugural week of the festival at its closing. The first of the events features the film music that has made the artist famous throughout the world. From “The Last Emperor” 's most famous soundtracks to “Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence”, Sakamoto have been collected by the Brussels Philharmonic with Dirk Brossé conducting in “Music for Film”, the first overview of this impressive corpus approved by him Sakamoto . On the stage of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone it is the prestigious orchestra, led by Brossé , that retraces those compositions, an example of the genius and poetics of one of the greatest artists of our times.
