"Dom Zły", "Róża", "Clergy", "Wołyń" - these are just a few of Wojciech Smarzowski's most famous productions, for which the soundtrack was recorded by the Gdańsk saxophonist and composer Mikołaj Trzaska. One of the most valued representatives of the jazz avant-garde in Poland performs with improvisers from all over the world, is a member of the Shofar trio, collaborates with the Ślina group and the Remont Pomp ensemble. At the same time, he has been creating his own music for plays and films for over a decade; for his work in this field, he received two Eagles, an individual award at the Polish Feature Film Festival in Gdynia and won a double Grand Prix at the Film Festival. Krzysztof Komeda. As he talks about the behind-the-scenes of composing: 'Working with Wojtek Smarzowski requires me to participate in the film as an actor rather than as an illustrator or commentator of events. I'm not the type of Hollywood composer, my job is to follow the character and his emotional states. I try to show everything that can't be played on camera. Mikołaj Trzaska's film music harmonizes perfectly with the image, and when performed live it takes on a completely new expression. During the special concert, the artist will be accompanied by the super group Royber Trio (Trzaska / Walicki / Moretti), and the repertoire will include themes from Smarzowski's films and Paweł Maślona's new production "Kos".
