Hydra Quartet - Cultura Molenstraat
Program Info: From Erich Wolfgang Korngold to Hans Zimmer
Let yourself be transported to Hollywood at the beginning of the last century. We travel through time from Erich Korngold via Enrico Morricone to John Williams and Hans Zimmer.
The Hydra String Quartet was founded during the lockdown period. The members already knew each other from various orchestral and chamber music projects and had the dream of founding a quartet that pursues the 'melancholic and golden sound ideal' from the Hollywood period of the early 20th century.
The quartet makes its own arrangements, is always looking for unknown 'treasures' from the chamber music repertoire and regularly plays programs together with guest musicians – this evening they are bringing along soprano Tineke Roseboom . In addition, it does not shy away from playing arrangements of jazz and world music.
The members are Eduardo Paredes Crespo and Ephraim Feves on violin, Mark Mulder on viola and Giorgos Kotsiolis on cello.
