A few things to know:
In 2023 The Guardian declared the film “not only the greatest Christmas film ever made, but also the best Muppet movie and among the most glorious of all Dickens adaptations.” The original score was composed by Miles Goodman (“Dirty Rotten Scoundrels,” “Little Shop of Horrors”) with songs by Oscar®, Emmy® and Grammy®-winning songwriter Paul Williams (“Rainbow Connection,” “Evergreen”). When Jim Henson offered the role of Ebenezer Scrooge to Michael Caine, he replied: "I'm going to play this movie like I'm working with the Royal Shakespeare Company. I will never wink, I will never do anything Muppety. I am going to play Scrooge as if it is an utterly dramatic role and there are no puppets around me.”
