For 35 years, Hans Zimmer has left a big mark on film music, and is considered one of the greatest film music composers of all time. Welcome to a concert dedicated to film music by the legendary composer.
After his breakthrough with "Rain Man" in 1988, he has composed for over 200 films and TV series. Despite minimal formal music education, he has established himself as one of film history's significant figures.
In the 80s he founded a studio, with a vision of combining traditional orchestral sound with electronic instruments, an approach that still characterizes much of his music.
After the success of "Rain Man," Hans Zimmer's name was linked to several major films, including "On a Walk with Miss Daisy." Although both films won the Oscar for Best Picture, it was not until the animated film "The Lion King" from 1994 that Zimmer won his first Oscar for Best Original Score, as well as a Golden Globe and two Grammy Awards.
Zimmer has continued to be a central figure in Hollywood, with contributions to iconic films such as “Gladiator,” “Black Hawk Down,” “The Da Vinci Code,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Inception,” and “The Dark Knight ” trilogy. In 2021, his music for the blockbuster film "Dune" was awarded his second Oscar and third Golden Globe.
Credited in 200 films according to IMDb, twelve Oscar nominations, three Golden Globe wins and four Grammy Awards, Hans Zimmer has cemented his position as one of the premier film score composers, alongside legends such as John Williams and Ennio Morricone. At 66 years of age, he shows no signs of slowing down.
