Take Me to the Movies
Hull Philharmonic Orchestra - Hull City Hall
Program Info: What could be more exciting than an evening of all your favourite classical pieces from across the decades all condensed into one glittering evening! The Hull Philharmonic Orchestra will fly you over the skies over war-torn Europe with Walton’s stirring Spitfire Prelude; whisk you off to new galaxies in the fight against the evil Empire with John Williams’ Star Wars Suite; and have you blast off into space with Richard Strauss’ Also Sprach Zarathustra.
During this jam-packed evening, you will also relive the heartbreak of star-crossed lovers with Bernstein’s Symphonic Dances from West Side Story; experience the beautiful melancholia of John Williams’ Theme from Schindler’s List; and charter a path across Middle Earth to the dragon fire of Mount Doom with Howard Shore’s Lord of the Rings Symphonic Suite. And much more besides!
It will be a truly unmissable evening with something to satisfy every generation – the perfect occasion for a movie-themed celebration with a friend, partner, or family member.
