Deutsche Filmorchester Babelsberg conducted by John Jesensky - Barclays Arena

Program Info:
John Williams - Star Wars: A New Hope

Experience STAR WARS in Concert 2024 live at the Barclays Arena.

A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, the greatest science fiction saga in film history thrilled millions of fans worldwide. The film score by John Williams also contributed to its success and is one of the best soundtracks of all time.

In Star Wars: A New Hope, the Empire reigns cruelly over the galaxy after the Jedi Knights have been destroyed. A group of rebels, led by Princess Leia, steal the blueprints for the Death Star and throw the Empire into turmoil. The plans end up with the old Jedi Knight Obi-Wan Kenobi, who fights against the Empire together with his apprentice Luke Skywalker, the smugglers Han Solo and Chewbacca. A life-threatening adventure begins, because Darth Vader is hot on their heels and wants to prevent the destruction of the Death Star.

The Star Wars saga, which was thought out by George Lucas down to the smallest detail, revolutionised the film world and continues to fascinate to this day. With its story, compelling characters and groundbreaking special effects, the Star Wars saga has become an icon of American culture. Under the direction of John Jesensky, the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg performs the award-winning music of John Williams in the Barclays Arena while the complete film is shown on a big screen.
